hi! i’m syd.
As a therapist, the most important thing to me is that my clients feel comfortable and safe. At the beginning of therapy, my focus is mainly on helping my clients feel safe in the therapeutic space. That’s why I prioritize building my relationship with clients at the start of therapy. After all, the therapeutic relationship is the biggest determinant of success in therapy! I also know that asking for help can be scary. I hope to make it a little less scary by telling you about myself! On this page are some things about me as a therapist and as a person so you can get to know me a little better!
my approach
I operate from the belief that therapy is a collaboration. I am not here to tell you what to do. You are the expert of your own experience. I am here to provide insight, knowledge, and work together with you. I approach each client with patience, interest, and compassion. I draw from different approaches such as psychodynamic, compassion-focused, strengths-based, person-centered, and narrative therapy. I operate from a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive lens. Please reach out if you’d like to learn more about my approach and how it could look for you.
