hi! i’m syd.

As a therapist, the most important thing to me is that my clients feel comfortable and safe. I prioritize building my relationship with clients at the start of therapy. After all, the therapeutic relationship is the biggest determinant of success in therapy! I also know that asking for help can be scary. I hope to make it a little less scary by telling you about myself! On this page are some things about me as a therapist and as a person so you can get to know me a little better!

my approach

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and deeply personalized.

I operate from the belief that therapy is a collaboration. You are the expert of your own experience. I am here to provide insight, knowledge, and work together with you. I approach each client with patience, interest, and compassion. I draw from different approaches such as psychodynamic, relational, compassion-focused, strengths-based, person-centered, and narrative therapy. I operate from a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive lens. Please reach out if you’d like to learn more about my approach and how it could look for you.

we might work well together if…

You’re looking for a genuine relationship with your therapist where you can be yourself.

You want a therapist who sees you as a whole person with lived experience.

You need time to open up to people. (I am very patient and understand that therapy can feel new and a little awkward)

You want to be able to joke with your therapist.

You relate to and find meaning in movies, tv shows, books, and music and want to talk about it!

“You keep asking why your work is not enough, and I don’t know how to answer that, because it’s enough to exist in the world and marvel at it. You don’t need to justify or earn it. You are allowed to just live.”
